For 46 years, I navigated life with ADHD without knowing it. From school to university, parenthood to leadership roles, I faced countless challenges. It wasn't until my mid-forties that I finally received an ADHD diagnosis, and it felt like a revelation—a key to understanding my world and myself.
Grieving the Past and Reframing My Journey
There was a time when I had to mourn all the years spent misunderstanding myself. I struggled with an inner critic that was harsh and unforgiving, often blaming myself for not measuring up to expectations. But the diagnosis allowed me to reframe my past, shedding light on why certain tasks felt overwhelming and why others became passions. This understanding has been a catalyst for change, guiding me to develop coping strategies that work with my ADHD rather than against it.
Turning Struggles into Strengths
Living with ADHD has taught me that it's not simply a matter of "just doing something." Every task can feel monumental, and mundane activities can be excruciatingly dull. However, ADHD also brings incredible gifts—creativity, intelligence, and the capacity to hyperfocus and achieve remarkable feats in short periods. This duality shapes how I coach others with ADHD.
I understand the pain points, the beautiful intentions, and the unique capacities of those with ADHD. My clients don't need to explain their struggles in exhaustive detail because I've lived them, too. There's no judgment, only empathy and a shared experience.
A Diverse Spectrum of Experiences
My life has been a tapestry of ADHD experiences—being an employee, a leader, a mother, a student, and now a business owner. Each role has informed my perspective and deepened my understanding. It allows me to create tailored programs that offer genuine support in a psychologically safe space where individuals with ADHD can thrive.
Empowering Clients Through Understanding
I know firsthand that there's no one-size-fits-all solution for managing ADHD. I love brainstorming with my clients and getting blown away by their innovative ideas and solutions. My goal is to provide a compassionate space where they feel seen and understood, helping them harness their strengths and overcome their challenges.
Creating a Thriving Business Out of Passion
Understanding how I learn and operate has enabled me to build a thriving business centered around my passion for helping others. My ADHD has become my superpower, fueling my drive to make the world a more supportive place for those who are neurodiverse.
